Sono ammessi animali domestici?

Al momento no, in nessuna delle due case — ad Alghero è il regolamento condominiale a impedirlo, a Stintino è una scelta nostra. Per casi particolari, scriveteci: ne parliamo.

Cosa è incluso nel prezzo?

Soggiorno, WiFi, aria condizionata, utenze. La tassa di soggiorno comunale è a parte e si salda all'arrivo.

Come funzionano le cancellazioni?

Fino a trenta giorni prima dell'arrivo: rimborso completo meno dieci percento. Fra trenta e quattordici giorni: rimborso del cinquanta percento. Sotto i quattordici giorni: nessun rimborso, ma proviamo sempre a rivendere le date e vi ricontattiamo.

Come funziona il check-in?

Check-in dalle sedici, check-out entro le dieci: orari fissi e nessuna attesa. Il check-in è autonomo con cassetta di sicurezza — le chiavi sono già lì al vostro arrivo, vi sistemate con i vostri tempi anche se arrivate tardi la sera. Vi mandiamo codice e istruzioni il giorno prima e restiamo a un messaggio di distanza per qualsiasi necessità.

L'aeroporto più vicino è Alghero-Fertilia (AHO): dieci minuti in auto dall'appartamento di Alghero, un'ora dalla villa di Stintino. Voli diretti da tutta Europa. In alternativa, traghetti per Porto Torres (30 km da Stintino) da Genova, Civitavecchia e Barcellona, oppure Olbia (due ore d'auto). Consigliamo sempre di noleggiare un'auto in aeroporto: le distanze fra le due case e i posti più belli del nord-ovest si coprono comode con la macchina.

The house

In the heart of the Coral Riviera.

La Porta del Lido is in a very central position, ten minutes on foot from the Lido and five from the Catalan old town. Free on-street parking in the surrounding roads. Inside: a spacious living room with a full open-plan kitchen, two bedrooms — a double and a twin — with four beds in total, and a shower bathroom. The balcony looks onto a quiet inner courtyard. Sleeps up to six. From the front door you reach, on foot, the medieval walls and the sea-facing bastions, the pedestrian streets of the old town, the marina and the cathedral. By car, in twenty to forty minutes, you reach the Grottoes of Neptune, Capo Caccia, the Porto Conte park and the Vermentino wineries.

№ 01 ✽ 10 min on foot / 10–20 km

Beaches of the Riviera

Alghero offers a variety of beaches for every taste. The Lido di Alghero (Lido San Giovanni) is the urban beach: wide, sandy, with loungers and beach clubs, ten minutes on foot. Ten kilometres away, Le Bombarde and Lazzaretto — golden sand and emerald water straight from a Caribbean postcard. For those who love wild nature, Porto Ferro (20 km) is an unspoilt bay with sand dunes and crystal water.

Lido on foot (10 min). Bombarde by car or bus (20 min). Porto Ferro by car (30 min). Beach season June–September. Sunloungers ~€20–30/day, free beaches at no cost. Arrive at Bombarde by 9:30 to find parking; Porto Ferro is ideal at sunset.

Old town and Bastions

Alghero is unique in Sardinia: a walled town of fifteenth-century Catalan-Aragonese origin, where a small community still speaks Algherese — a Catalan dialect recognised by UNESCO as an endangered language. The Aragonese bastions facing the sea are the perfect spot for sunset: from the Maddalena viewpoint, the view stretches over the gulf, Le Bombarde and, on clear days, Capo Caccia on the horizon.

Always accessible. Churches open 9:00–12:30 / 16:30–19:00, free of charge (some request a small voluntary donation). Sunset on the Bastions in July–August is spectacular — arrive thirty minutes early to get a spot on the walls.

Grottoes of Neptune

The Grottoes of Neptune are among the most spectacular karst caves in the Mediterranean, carved over millennia by the sea into the sheer cliff of Capo Caccia. The complex runs for over 2.5 km: stalactites and stalagmites up to twenty metres tall, silent underground lakes, and chambers of rare beauty.

Two ways to get there: by boat from Alghero (thirty minutes' sailing along the coast, recommended) or on foot down the Escala del Cabirol, 656 steps carved into the cliff above the sea. Open April–October 9:00–19:00. Admission ~€16 adults, €8 children; boat ~€13 return. Boats do not run in rough seas.

Porto Conte Park

The Regional Natural Park of Porto Conte covers the Capo Caccia peninsula and the "Le Prigionette" reserve. Inside stands the Palmavera nuraghe, one of the best-preserved megalithic nuraghi in Sardinia, built over 3,500 years ago. The park is perfect for hiking and cycling: trails through Mediterranean scrub of strawberry tree, mastic and wild olive, with foxes, martens, peregrine falcons and the Prigionette mouflons.

Park always open, free entry. Palmavera nuraghe 9:00–19:00 in summer, admission ~€5. "Le Prigionette" tour by reservation, ~€10. Visit the nuraghe early in the morning to avoid the heat; bring water and sturdy shoes.

Catalan-style lobster

Catalan-style lobster is Alghero's signature dish and one of the most celebrated in Sardinian cuisine. The Catalan-inspired recipe calls for boiled lobster served at room temperature on a bed of sliced tomatoes, red onion, parsley and a drizzle of Sardinian extra-virgin olive oil. Simple, but extraordinary when the lobster is fresh and locally caught.

Restaurants in the old town and harbour are known for the quality of their seafood. Dinner 19:30–23:00, lunch 12:30–14:30 (not always available). Whole lobster ~€40–60 per person depending on weight. Always ask the price per kilo before ordering; in high season book two or three days ahead. Ideal pairing: Torbato di Alghero DOC.

Sella & Mosca winery

The Sella & Mosca winery is one of Sardinia's food-and-wine landmarks: founded in 1899, it stretches over 650 hectares of vineyards at the gates of Alghero — one of Europe's largest single-estate wine properties. Here they produce Torbato di Alghero (a recovered native grape), Cannonau di Sardegna, Vermentino and Terre Rare.

Monday–Saturday 9:00–18:00 (April–October), guided tours by reservation. Tasting ~€15–25 per person, includes three or four wines. Book online in advance, especially in August. 200 metres from the winery stands the Anghelu Ruju necropolis, hypogeum tombs from 3,500 BC — combine the two visits.
