Al momento no, in nessuna delle due case — ad Alghero è il regolamento condominiale a impedirlo, a Stintino è una scelta nostra. Per casi particolari, scriveteci: ne parliamo.

Cosa è incluso nel prezzo?

Soggiorno, WiFi, aria condizionata, utenze. La tassa di soggiorno comunale è a parte e si salda all'arrivo.

Come funzionano le cancellazioni?

Fino a trenta giorni prima dell'arrivo: rimborso completo meno dieci percento. Fra trenta e quattordici giorni: rimborso del cinquanta percento. Sotto i quattordici giorni: nessun rimborso, ma proviamo sempre a rivendere le date e vi ricontattiamo.

Come funziona il check-in?

Check-in dalle sedici, check-out entro le dieci: orari fissi e nessuna attesa. Il check-in è autonomo con cassetta di sicurezza — le chiavi sono già lì al vostro arrivo, vi sistemate con i vostri tempi anche se arrivate tardi la sera. Vi mandiamo codice e istruzioni il giorno prima e restiamo a un messaggio di distanza per qualsiasi necessità.

L'aeroporto più vicino è Alghero-Fertilia (AHO): dieci minuti in auto dall'appartamento di Alghero, un'ora dalla villa di Stintino. Voli diretti da tutta Europa. In alternativa, traghetti per Porto Torres (30 km da Stintino) da Genova, Civitavecchia e Barcellona, oppure Olbia (due ore d'auto). Consigliamo sempre di noleggiare un'auto in aeroporto: le distanze fra le due case e i posti più belli del nord-ovest si coprono comode con la macchina.

The house

Five minutes by car from La Pelosa beach.

Villa La Mimosa sits immersed in the Mediterranean scrub, inside the Cala Lupo Village, halfway between the village of Stintino and La Pelosa beach. Right opposite the villa there is the bus stop — in summer the bus runs roughly every fifteen minutes and reaches La Pelosa in ten to fifteen minutes; by car the beach is five minutes away — brilliant white sand, crystal-clear water, the Aragonese tower in the background. Around the villa, a private garden with veranda, barbecue and outdoor tables. Inside, a bright living room with a full kitchenette, four bedrooms with eight beds in total and two shower bathrooms. Air conditioning, sleeps up to eight. It's the right base for Sardinia's north-west: the ferries to Asinara leave from Stintino's harbour, just nearby you'll find the Capo Falcone trail, the Tuna Fishery Museum and the village's seafood restaurants. Alghero is an hour's drive — comfortable for a day trip.

La Pelosa beach

La Pelosa is widely considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe — and when you arrive, you understand why immediately. An almost unreal turquoise water, fine white sand and, in the background, the sixteenth-century Aragonese Pelosa Tower rising from the sea like a postcard.

Access is regulated from 15 May to 15 October: booking is mandatory on spiaggialapelosa.it (€3.50 per person, max 1,500 entries per day). Our tip: arrive by 9:30 to enjoy it still quiet, in the morning light.

№ 02 ✽ Ferry from the harbour

Asinara National Park

Asinara has been a national-park island since 1997, preserved thanks to its past as a penal colony and then a high-security prison. Today it's home to the world's only albino white donkeys, mouflons, wild goats and an extraordinary variety of migratory birds.

Ferry from Stintino or Porto Torres harbour (around 20 minutes). Excursions available from April to October: bike rides, electric off-road tours, snorkelling in protected bays. Book ahead on August weekends.

The village of Stintino

Stintino is a small fishing village founded in 1885, when the families of Asinara had to leave the island to make way for the penal colony. That forced migration gave birth to a village that still keeps its seafaring soul: low houses lining the two small harbours, nets drying in the sun, a local dialect — "stintinese" — blending Ligurian, Sardinian and Catalan. The evening stroll along the seafront between Porto Mannu and Porto Minore is a local ritual.

The best moment is late afternoon: soft light on the houses, aperitivo at the harbour, dinner at one of the fish trattorias in the centre. In summer the centre has limited traffic — leave the car at the car parks at the village entrance and walk. Weekly market on Thursday morning. On August Wednesday evenings, live-music nights along the seafront.

Snorkelling and windsurfing

The Gulf of Asinara is a paradise for water sports. The Posidonia seagrass beds — a UNESCO heritage — host a rich ecosystem: sea breams, octopuses, moray eels, groupers and, if you're lucky, Caretta caretta turtles. The water is crystal-clear, visibility often over fifteen metres.

Above water, the Mistral wind makes the bay one of Sardinia's best for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Schools and equipment rental along the seafront. Snorkel rental from around €10, windsurfing lessons from around €50/hour. The Mistral is steadiest in the afternoon; snorkelling is best in the morning.

Capo Falcone Tower

Capo Falcone Tower is a historical and natural gem a few minutes from the villa. Built by the Aragonese in the sixteenth century as a watchtower, it overlooks the Gulf of Asinara with a breathtaking view: La Pelosa below, Asinara island in front, the north-west coast all the way to the horizon.

Trail always accessible, free of charge. Four kilometres round trip, 120 metres of elevation, about an hour's walk. At sunset the raking light on the granite rocks is spectacular — trainers recommended.

Traditional Sardinian cuisine

In Stintino, the seafood cuisine takes centre stage. Catalan-style lobster, fregola with clams, Stintino fish soup, "polpo in galera": every restaurant in the village has its own recipes, passed down through generations. Don't miss the local "tumbarella", a sweet made from almond paste and bitter honey.

Restaurants cluster along the harbour and in the old town. Dinner 19:30–23:00, lunch 12:30–14:30. Starter + first + second + wine €35–55 per person. In August always book, even two or three days ahead. Pair with a glass of Vermentino di Sardegna DOC.
