La Stalla beach
Hidden cove between Lazzaretto and Bombarde, sheltered from the wind
✽ 12 km — 15 min by car

La Stalla beach is a small cove that opens between Lazzaretto and Le Bombarde, hidden by the vegetation and often unknown to passing tourists. Precisely because of this discretion, it has become the favourite of many locals: fifty metres of fine white sand, crystal-clear water, low rocks that close the bay at the sides creating a sort of natural swimming pool. Its shape makes it sheltered from the Mistral, a precious alternative when the wind blows hard on the exposed beaches.
A cove for those seeking quiet
The beach is tiny — on August weekends it fills up quickly, but bather turnover is fast since there's no space to stay all day. The water is very shallow for the first ten metres, ideal for small children. The side rocks offer excellent snorkelling: a rocky bottom populated by sea breams, wrasse, small octopuses. There are no services on the beach itself: for coffee or a sandwich, return to Le Bombarde a few minutes' walk along the coastal path.
How to get there
There's no dedicated parking: leave the car at Le Bombarde or Lazzaretto and reach the cove on foot along the signposted coastal path (5–10 minutes either way). Trainers or closed sandals: the path runs over low rocks. Bring water, parasol and everything you need — on the beach there's nothing. La Stalla is the right choice for those who prefer to walk a little in exchange for a really quiet beach.
